Identification
In our society it’s pretty tough to get by without identification. Losing one piece of identification isn’t such a big deal as often you can show another to prove your identity. For those who have lost all of their identification, or faced homelessness and lack identification, or for those reintegrating into society after leaving the correctional system and lack ID, it’s difficult to apply for identity cards when starting from scratch.
ID Clinics
St. John’s Kitchen at 97 Victoria St. N. hosts free ID clinics - delivered by Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre - on Tuesdays. Drop in to receive assistance between 10am and 1pm.
The Money Matters Desk is open from 9:30am-12:30pm at St. John's Kitchen each Tuesday - coinciding nicely with the ID Clinic. Issues of financial inclusion and identification are closely linked. Ask our Financial Inclusion Outreach Worker to help you connect with appropriate ID services in the community.
ID Clinics are also available at Mary's Place, Charles Street Men's Hostel, or by appointment at Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre.
