Transportation

Kitchener-Waterloo has a wide range of options for getting around without a car.  It can take some planning and often a little more time, but it can also be freeing.

Owning and operating a car can be very expensive. How many of us understand how much we spend on transportation in a year or month? By understanding the costs associated with our car use, we can begin to compare alternatives. We can also gain a better understanding of what we use our car for, and when. If we use our car more efficiently we can save money, but we can also begin to see patterns that will make it possible to use other more affordable modes of travel.

Bicycles, public transit, taxis, car rental and car sharing are examples that we can consider. While none of them alone may replace the car, together they provide us with an affordable alternative for getting around.
