Hot Button Issues

Often interviewees are confident in one part of the interview process, while another part makes them nervous.

These components that make a participant nervous are their Hot Button Issues.

Hot Button Issues are particular to each individual and represent the reoccurring challenges one might face in an interview. Maybe you never know how to gage salary expectations. Perhaps you have difficulty describing your weaknesses. Maybe you are concerned because you have gaps in your work history that you are constantly being asked to address.

Since interviews rarely stray from the styles and types described, it’s safe to say that the questions and situations you have been stumbling on will be there to haunt you in your next interview.

Being nervous for an interview is normal, but you don’t want it to become your defining quality. These challenges can be mediated through preparedness. An Employment Counselor can help you identify and address your Hot Button Issues.
