The tax clinic is now closed for the 2021 tax year. Please go to Money Matters for tax support. Thank you!
The Working Centre is once again offering Income Tax Clinic support for people living on a limited income.
Due to the high numbers of people hoping to access supports, and the complexity of Covid-19, our tax clinic support is by Drop-Off only this year.
You can drop-off your required papers starting on March 7th 2022, in person or electronically, and sign a form giving us permission to complete your tax return on your behalf. When you drop off your papers you must provide government issued photo ID for each person who is submitting their taxes for completion.
Once your return is filed, you can pick up your copy at our Job Search Resource Centre at 58 Queen Street South in Kitchener or we can mail your copy to you. You select your preferred choice when you drop-off your papers.
Volunteers registered with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program will help to complete your income tax return.

What To Drop Off
- A completed income tax intake form. (Click here to download)
- Government-issued photo ID for each person that needs tax support. If you do not have government issued photo ID – please let us know and we can help.
- Information slips (T-slips) for 2021. More information about this is in the intake form above.
Two Ways to Drop Off Your Taxes
- Download and print the income tax intake form (highlighted link in previous section), or
- Drop-In to our Resource Centre at 58 Queen Street South, Kitchener and pick up a copy of the list of documents and the questionnaire.
Our hours are:
Mondays: 9am to 4pm
Tuesdays: 9am to 4pm
Wednesdays :9am to 12pm
Thursdays: 9am to 4pm
Fridays: 9am to 12pm
You can complete the form at home and then return to The Working Centre to drop them off, along with your government-issued photo ID and all required information slips (T-slips).
When you drop off your documents, we will review your package with you before you leave to make sure we are not missing anything. As numbers of people determine, this might require a bit of a wait. Our preference is that you wait and review this with us to ensure we have the right documents and we can complete your return quickly.
- Electronic Drop-Off
Note that you should never email personal information. We have created a secure method for you to send your income tax information electronically. Let us know by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will email you the instructions and the list of documents that must be included to complete your income tax return. Follow the step-by-step instructions on how to do this. If we have all the right information, it avoids delays.
After the Drop-Off
Once your return is completed we will contact you. You can pick up your copy or we can mail it to you. You decide at the time you drop-off your paperwork. You will need to show ID when you pick up your package.
What if There is a Mistake?
If there is a mistake in your taxes you will receive a Notice of Assessment from the CRA. Please let us know if this happens and we will help with next steps. Also, if something is missed in the filing of your return, we can complete a request to modify your return. Please Let us know if you have questions about your completed return.
Please call us at 519-743-1151 x176 if you have any questions.
