Join us for a free celebration of women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Waterloo Region's first official Ada Lovelace Day event presented by Hackademy.ca on October 15, 2013.

This inaugural event will showcase local STEM champions of the Waterloo Region with presentations, information booths, and activities that will interest all demographics, including children, in an accessible and inclusive environment.

Who was Ada? Ada Lovelace is known as the founder of scientific computing and wrote a scientific paper in 1843 that anticipated the development of computer software, artificial intelligence and computer music. Learn about and celebrate this fascinating woman during Ada Lovelace Day: an event celebrated around the world championing women in STEM.

Ada Lovelace Day is a free event open to the public and is in collaboration with several STEM organizations committed to increasing the knowledge economy for our community.

Activities and information booths: Laurier Centre for Women in Science, Hello World Camp, Nerd Nite KW, the Institute for Quantum Computing, the Kitchener Public Library, City of Kitchener's Discovery Square, Kwartzlab, the Royal Astronimical Society of Canada, Cord Community Edition, and Desire2Learn.
