Many are waking up to the unmistakable choice we face: system change or climate change? Yet such a stark choice can tempt us to believe we can control or manage our way to a better system.  Emergence, the science of how systems come to be, suggests something else entirely: that new systems come not through prediction or plans but through surprise.

Join Joe and Stephanie Mancini who will explore the practice of openness to complexity, describing the experience of trust that has allowed the Working Centre to see emergence in action.

Fermented Thoughts is the Working Centre’s forum for imaginative thought on social, economic, and ecological issues. Join us for discussion over wine and food.
