Community Gardening

Green areas, as well as areas designated for urban food production, contribute to increasing the urban quality of life, with benefits such as access to fresh food, community building, cleaner air, and sustainable land use. Kitchener is an ideal location to increase food production in retrofitted buildings, rooftops, and empty lots.

The gardening projects of The Working Centre provide individuals and groups with the tools they need to produce food in an urban setting. The project does this by supporting and initiating urban food producing projects, such as those list on the links to the right.
