Job Posting: Outreach Worker

Are you someone who is attracted to the philosophy and action of The Working Centre?

There are a variety of Outreach Worker positions available; both place based and mobile.

Outreach workers respond to the support needs of people who are street involved, often dealing with the complexities of substance use, lack of affordable housing, mental health issues, and challenges navigating complex systems. The work is highly relational, always challenging and changing, and is based on the needs of the individuals we support. Outreach Workers are responsive, truly enjoy being with people, have a good understanding of collaboration and team work, and are not set on following standard routines in their work.

An Outreach Worker at The Working Centre helps people to navigate system barriers, and gain access to income, healthcare, housing and legal supports. The position requires taking a trauma informed approach, and working from a philosophy of harm reduction. Outreach Workers form a responsive group, collaborating strongly with other agencies and with the projects of The Working Centre.

The Working Centre is a dynamic and highly responsive organization. Co-workers come from all walks of life, a variety of cultural backgrounds, and an eclectic mix of age groups. We are constantly learning and are challenged in our work. We offer many flexible yet anchored work roles and a work environment that allows you to do meaningful, respectful and good work.
