Job Posting: Financial Inclusion Worker

We are hiring a Financial Inclusion Worker for our Money Matters project embedded in our Resource Centre on Queen Street. This team works within a wider Financial Empowerment and Problem Solving network that collaborates across Canada.

In this role you would build relationship with community members, and support people to navigate system barriers, taxes and benefits, and gain access to income, and legal supports.

You will collaborate with others to bring problem-solving and critical thinking as you provide:

- Responsive, one-on-one support, building relationship and listening actively,
- Income tax preparation, including tax returns for previous years,
- Assistance accessing tax credits and assistance programs,
- Assistance applying for Ontario Works, ODSP, EI,
- Budgeting assistance and resources in dealing with debt problems,
- Personalized problem solving around challenges associated with cheque cashing and
payday loans,
- Help in building and maintaining relationship with a bank or credit union,
- Balancing financial priorities and commitments,
- Accompaniment to appointments where helpful,
- A confidential place to explore difficult decisions,
- A bridge to other community resources at The Working Centre and,
- Links to other community services

Position starts at $18.14/hour; generous benefit package after 3 months for full-time work.
