The 5th Edition of the Alternative Work Catalogue now has over 350 books
selected to help job searchers, students, career changers, community workers
and others to investigate, plan, and fine tune their ideas and ventures.
The books focus on creativity and independence, self-employment and initiative,
earning less but living more, the integration of community and work.

This is an excellent resource list for High Schools, Colleges and University
Career Centres, public libraries and for community-based Job Search Resource
Centres. Individuals can order these books as well.
The catalogue is a project of The Working Centre - a community-based resource
centre that seeks to give individuals and groups access to tools and
opportunities to become involved in the building of community. Some of
our projects are described on page 23 of this catalogue. All proceeds
from this catalogue are used to support Working Centre projects.
You can place you order by mail, fax or phone. To stay informed watch for
the Good Work News, our quarterly newspaper.
In most cases we ship our orders within three days, depending on availability
and access. Several titles are published annually and unless you specify,
we will mail the latest available edition. All our books are sold at the
publisher's suggested retail price and come with a 30 day guarantee.
Prices are subject to change based on the fluctuating Canadian dollar.
If you do not find what you are looking for or if you have any questions about
any of the items listed in the catalogue, please contact us and we will be
happy to help you. Through this catalogue The Working Centre hopes that
you will become familiar with our projects and ideas.
