Targeted Initiative for Older Workers

Our goal is to assist local employers by matching them with skilled, capable and mature workers.

We invite employers to participate:

  • Hire an experienced, qualified worker to meet your needs.
  • Create an on-the-job placement opportunity, and receive a training subsidy to help an older worker to learn the specific skills of the job.
  • Participate in designing customized training that meets your particular hiring needs (TIOW can fund training specific to your hiring needs).
  • If you are hiring multiple positions with similar skills we invite you to talk to us about customized training and placement opportunities.

Benefits of Hiring Older Workers:

  • Experience
  • Strong work ethic
  • Dedication and loyalty
  • Years of work and problem-solving experience
  • Maturity
  • Good communication skills

Many of the workers participating in TIOW have participated in training and certifications to upgrade their skills.
