Note about this position: The employer has agreed to receive applications from qualified candidates of the Internationally Trained Professionals Internship Program, facilitated by the Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network (WRIEN) and Conestoga College.
The Internship Program is set up to assist internationally trained professionals gain Canadian experience in their field. Eligible candidates will be residents of Waterloo Region and meet the following criteria. The candidates must:
# Be eligible to work in Canada (permanent resident, intent to land and/or Canadian citizen)
# Be in need of first Canadian work experience in their area of expertise
# Be ready and available for employment
# Hold a post-secondary degree or journeyman status from another country
# Possess related work experience in a profession/trade from outside Canada
# Demonstrate English skills at the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) assessment level of 7 or above
# Have a resume and cover letter specific to their profession
# Be registered with one of the participating community agencies

Sandvine
Network Support Technician - Bilingual (Spanish)
Location

Description
As a member of our technical support team youll provide post-sales support to customers and Sales Engineers located throughout the globe. Sandvine provides a 24x7x365 service in order to cover the high availability requirements of our products. You will be required to work on call and work shifts on a rotating basis. Youll use your excellent troubleshooting and investigative skills to resolve technical issues for customers, and to communicate the features and benefits of Sandvine solutions.
You will work in our team environment, taking responsibility for post-sales customer support, including the management of defect entry, tracking, and escalation. You will also provide backup support for remote Sales Engineers, including preparing technical customer presentations and working with Service Providers to evangelize, architect, implement, and support Sandvine solutions in their networks. Communication is key to this role as your opinion and ideas will be critical for the future development and operation of our product as you will be a key individual relaying the thoughts and comments from our customers.

Skills
Minimum of 2 year experience in a technical role.
Degree or diploma from a technical institute
Hands-on Unix experience (BSD/Linux/Solaris)
Technical background with a strong understanding of networking (specifically IP related technologies)
Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and/or operation of network equipment such as Cisco, Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers a valuable asset
Excellent troubleshooting, investigative, and communications skills
Experience with programming and/or scripting, SQL databases, network traffic monitoring, or firewall technologies especially in a Telecom, ISP, or Cable Internet environment a valuable asset
Experience in a technical product lab setting or operational network environment a valuable asset
Ability and willingness to travel internationally
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
