Note about this position: The employer has agreed to receive applications from qualified candidates of the Internationally Trained Professionals Internship Program, facilitated by the Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network (WRIEN) and Conestoga College.
The Internship Program is set up to assist internationally trained professionals gain Canadian experience in their field. Eligible candidates will be residents of Waterloo Region and meet the following criteria. The candidates must:
# Be eligible to work in Canada (permanent resident, intent to land and/or Canadian citizen)
# Be in need of first Canadian work experience in their area of expertise
# Be ready and available for employment
# Hold a post-secondary degree or journeyman status from another country
# Possess related work experience in a profession/trade from outside Canada
# Demonstrate English skills at the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) assessment level of 7 or above
# Have a resume and cover letter specific to their profession
# Be registered with one of the participating community agencies

Technical Specialist (Repair)
The Repair group has an immediate opening for a highly motivated technician/ technologist. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background and excellent organizational skills. Our team is dedicated to meeting our customers repair expectations by providing on time, high quality deliverables. The ideal candidate will be looking for a positive career change by expanding on our proven history of team successes.
As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for the testing, troubleshooting and repair of all customer returned DALSA products and repair prevention through the use of failure analysis techniques.
As a member of our team, you must be able to demonstrate:

Excellent technical skills with a proven record of success.
Thorough knowledge of analogue and digital testing techniques with an aptitude for failure analysis, troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits.
You will be able to problem solve and return solutions that are goal oriented.
Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Value of maintaining accurate inventory controls.
An ability to quickly identify, define and overcome project obstacles.
Flexibility to meet customer expectations.
A minimum of an Electronics Technician/Technologist diploma (or equivalent) plus 3 years experience is required.
Preference will be given to those applicants with experience in electronic test and repair. Familiarity with CCD technologies, FPGA and Micro code programming and ISO 9001:2000 requirements would be an asset.
