Office Administration, Reception, Accounting, and Bookkeeping

Profile #1: D.K.

I enjoy people and always seem to know how to make them feel relaxed and at home. Word-processing, journaling, editing, proofreading and data-entry are enjoyable activities that I would I like to use in a clinic, office or hospital, or even my own home. I have my grade 12, with a Diploma for Medical Office Assistant from Stratford Career College, Excel certification and am in process in Office Procedures for Administrative Professionals through Conestoga College. My employment background consists of mainly retail customer sales and service.

My best accomplishment is a picture I created of a weeping fireman on Sept. 27, 2001 and other military art. It hangs proudly in a retired fire chief’s office in Waubaushine, ON. This year alone I have received one Diploma, three certificates and am in process in three other courses. My passion is for all things creative and producing, whether that is in the arts, problem-solving, or encouraging others. My unique skill is my artistic talent.

I want a vocation that provides opportunities to utilize my talents, skills, lets me “breathe” and gives me flex-time. I can see me doing that best by being a telecommuter, an entrepreneur, or an office administrator. Volunteering is an excellent way to gain practical skills, experience and to stay involved with my community. I have also started a gift-basket business venture last month. To me, these things generate an overall sense of motivation, purpose and satisfaction.
