We offer free job posting services that allow you to reach over 3,000 job seekers per year who use
our Job Search Resource Centre and many individuals who regularly access our website. To respond to
your preferred way of advertising your vacancies, we provide you with the following choices:
- Post the job on our website. In this case you can opt to hide your contact information and request potential applicants to contact us first.
- Distribute the posting to our community partners.
- Share the posting only with our employment counsellors, who will search for potential matches.
- Posting the job on the job board of the Job Search Resource Centre
- All of the ablove.
There are several ways how you can post a job with us:
- If you prefer talking over the phone, you can contact us at 519-743-1151 and ask to speak to an employment counsellor who will take the details of the position you are advertising.
- You can email us your existing job description or fax to 519-743-9452 and an employment counsellor will contact you if some clarification is needed.
- To ensure that commonly required information is provided, we suggest using our Job Posting Form and ask you to email or fax it to us at 519-743-9452.

Completing the Job Posting Form
- Terms of Employment
- Is it seasonal employment? What are the approximate start and end dates?
- Transportation
- Clarify whether someone needs their own vehicle, or whether they need to get to work on their own means (bus, get a ride, bicycle, etc.)
- Is there any company system of getting people to workplace: e.g. picked up in a truck and driven to workplace
- Late night employment – is there any system for assuring people’s safety? Eg. escort to car, ride home, etc.
- Description: Please be as specific as possible about the details of the position:
- Specific tasks (e.g. Personal support Worker: launder clothing and household linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning, provide personal care, administer bedside and personal care)
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: (e.g. repetitive tasks, physically demanding, combination of sitting/standing/walking)
- Essential skills and attributes: e.g. analytical and organizational skills, ability to work in a team, ability to work without supervision, ability to work under pressure, ability to show initiative
- Location: will the work be completed at one site? Will they be travelling from place to place? How will they travel – and will they be paid for travel time and mileage?
- Education and Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.) : What are minimum requirements? (e.g. completion of high school; first aid / CPR certificate)
- Language Skills: Which English skills are used most: speaking and listening? Or reading and writing? Also, what other languages would be a benefit?
- Type of Clientele: What groups of people will the employee be working with? Families? Seniors? Youth? Vacationers? Steady customers?
- External Verification: Does the employee require an external verification, such as a criminal record check?
- Federal Business Number: We ask for this number because the government wishes us to track the different employers who we help, and this number helps us identify employers. If you’re unsure of what your federal business number is, just write the first 9 digits of your GST number --- those digits are the same as your federal business number.
