The Working Centre - Community Tools Projects

Welcome to The Commons Market – a creative community market that supports a group of local farmers who are working to create sustainable livelihoods. We do this through CSA shares and a pre-ordered market. By joining The Commons Market we can support these growers while learning to build our eating habits around the food that can be grown locally. As we eat what growers produce we can discover new recipes and ideas around food that help us to understand what it means to eat local.

In addition to fruits, vegetables and herbs from this group of local growers, The Commons Market also offers fresh bread from Golden Hearth Bakery, cheese from Millbank Cheese, meats from Traditional Foods, and dried goods from Ebytown Food Coop. These items are available to order on a weekly basis (biweekly in the winter months) through our online ordering system. This list of available items helps us to build awareness of what is in-season while also providing the opportunity for bulk quantities to preserve for the winter months.

The Commons Market is open throughout the year and we welcome new members at any time. For more details, check out the How it Works section or feel free to contact us.

The Commons Market CSA Shares

The Commons Market also offers CSA shares, where members pickup a box of fresh local produce. Sign up at the beginning of the season and receive a box every week (full share) or every second week (half share) filled with a variety of the produce that our growers have in their gardens. Check out the Commons Market CSA page for more information.
