Donations

We are looking for donations of working Pentium III and Pentium IV computers and computer related components such as hard drives, DDR memory sticks, motherboards, power supplies and video cards. If you are donating computers that are not in working condition or computers older than Pentium III, monitors and printers we do ask for a tipping fee of $10.00 per item.

To arrange for larger donations, please call (519) 743-1151 Ext. 225, or if you wish you can complete the donation form and fax it for arrangements

Please bring as little packaging and boxes as possible and avoid bringing Styrofoam.

What Happens To Donated Hard Drives?

We will never boot from a hard drive before it has been wiped of data. Hard drives we are going to keep are overwritten seven times in the process of testing. If we are not going to reuse a hard drive, it is physically destroyed in our facility before we send it to a responsible e-waste recycler.

We use a program called Darik’s Boot and Nuke to wipe your data from the hard drive. If you would like to erase your hard drive you can use one of the following programs:

Volunteering

We are always looking for skilled volunteers to help us test components, refurbish computers, repair public computers, strip received donations and maintain our shop. If you have skills that we can use please contact the computer recycling team to arrange a time to visit for more information.
